ARKS Mission
ARKS accomplishes its vision by building upon three pillars, which are foundational to its purpose for being.
- Collaboration: Building partnerships with other non-profits for projects as well as sharing our resources for the training of leaders.
- Creativity: Working with partners to establish new methods to meet specific needs.
- Compassion: Providing practical, loving assistance to those in crisis situations.
History
Through his daily business activities and fellowship with many pastors and congregations throughout the country, Robert Knowles, President of Arks Incorporated had witnessed spiritual, economic and social issues that were apparent in smaller churches and communities. Unfortunately, many smaller churches were lacking resources to maintain substantial growth within.
Inadequate worship facilities, lack of funding for community ministries and inability to acquire basic goods and services all inhibit the growth of the Body of Christ in smaller communities.
With a heart for God’s people, a vision from God, Robert Knowles established ARKS to address those issues. By providing resources and services to the faith based community, we allow God’s will to be done and His kingdom to operate on Earth as it does in Heaven.

Dr. James Seymour is the Executive Director of ARKS. He has an extensive ministry background over the last thirty years having spent sixteen years as a missionary, first in Bethel, Alaska and then for twelve years in Zimbabwe, Africa.

Since 1996 he has been the Head of the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh. From 1997-2006 he hosted a weekly television program called "Issues of Life" teaching on a number of relevant issues from a Biblical Worldview.
